Universal and Universal was founded in 1989, as a for-profit corporation that was owned and operated by people who have persistent histories of mental illness. Since that time, Universal and Universal has changed its status to a non profit company, and has moved under MRC Industries as a program, to continue providing life changing work opportunities for this population.
We provide job opportunities for mental health consumers by providing competitive and reliable services to the community. Our workers are valued members of their work environment and bring the skills necessary to perform their job in an effective manner. The high quality services we provide include janitorial and contract labor. Our janitorial services include routine cleaning in office or industrial settings. We also offer hardwood care, carpet cleaning, stripping, and waxing.
Universal and Universal provides supervision and job coaching to all of its employees. The extra support that we offer has proven to be very beneficial to both the employees and employers in our community. With this support, workers often become long term employees, with some presently employed 10 or more years on the job.
